3rd – Formal Introduction Dinner & Family Night

We will begin the reunion with a formal introduction dinner. This special evening will include:

  • Family members coming on stage to introduce themselves
  • Sharing which branch of the family tree they come from
  • Meeting relatives we have never met before, including cousins, children, and extended family
  • A reserved stage and sound system for presentations and introductions

This will be an evening of celebration, delicious food, and live jazz music as we come together to reconnect and build new relationships across generations.

Honoring Our Elders

We are asking all elders to register in advance so they can be included in the official event program and invited to speak on stage. Elders will be encouraged to share:

  • Personal life stories and family memories
  • Stories of loved ones who came before us
  • Historical context to help us better understand where we come from

Their voices are essential in preserving our family history and passing down wisdom to future generations.

Youth & Family Legacy

All family members and their children must attend this reunion. We are especially focused on our youth, as they are the future of our family legacy.

We will be introducing plans for the “Alberta Truss Merritt Legacy”, which will be discussed during the family dinner. This initiative is part of a larger vision to build unity, knowledge, and long-term generational wealth within our family.

We want our youth to first understand their roots, who they are, and which branch of the family tree they come from. If you are unsure, please review the Merritt Family Generation Tree to identify your branch.

Important Family Conversation

During this reunion, we will also begin important conversations about financial growth, stability, and building wealth together as a family. Our goal is to work toward strengthening our bloodline and creating opportunities for future generations.

Elder Meal Requests

For elders who plan to attend but have dietary restrictions or prefer lighter meals, please submit your meal requests in advance so accommodation can be made.

Because of planning and preparation timelines, all special meal requests must be submitted by October 31st, 2026.

We look forward to seeing every branch of our family come together for this historic celebration of unity, legacy, and love.
